2025 Subaru Impreza RS
As we look ahead to redesigning the 2025 Subaru Impreza RS, we can expect a continuation of the sixth-generation lineup introduced in 2024.
The Impreza RS will be one of three trims, along with the base and Sport versions. The RS trim will feature a 2.5-liter, 182-horsepower SUBARU BOXER® engine, like the Crosstrek Wilderness.
2025 Subaru Impreza RS
This gives it an additional 30 horsepower and 33 pound-feet of torque compared to other Impreza models.
The 2025 Impreza is expected to offer the Starlink Subaru multimedia system standard on the Sport and RS models.
It is compatible with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and features an 11.6-inch touchscreen with controls for specific sound systems, HVAC, and vehicle functions.
For models equipped with Starlink, Subaru also offers Safety and Security Connect Services, such as SOS Emergency Assistance and Stolen Vehicle Recovery Service, and conveniences, such as Remote Vehicle Locator.
The RS trim returned after a long absence. It serves as an upgrade from the Sport — with a more powerful engine — once again bridging the gap between the mainstream Impreza and the performance-oriented turbocharged WRX.
And, of course, every Impreza will come with an all-wheel drive.
Following industry customs, the new Impreza offers a more considerable and available infotainment screen and enhanced safety features, expanding the EyeSight driver assistance suite and active safety system.

2024 Subaru Impreza First Look
The 2024 Subaru Impreza made its global debut at the 2022 Los Angeles auto show.
The new Impreza will no longer have manual transmission options available. Each Impreza 2024 will have a Subaru continuous variable automatic transmission (CVT).
The manual transmission is another element of the Impreza. For the foreseeable future, Subaru will only offer the new Impreza as a four-door hatchback, leaving the four-door sedan as an option.
Subaru thinks most of Impreza’s buyers are weekend fighters who carry a lot of gear on sightseeing, so the four-door hatchback is much more conducive to the lifestyle.
It also helps that the Crosstrek, the trendy cousin of the Impreza, is only available in the same hatchback body, albeit with a higher suspension and more plastic trim.
By releasing the sedan, Subaru has one body (hatch) covering its compact vehicle’s entire spread.
Downsizing is a theme in Impreza’s 2024 lineup. The Impreza that came out had seven different trims between the sedan and the hatch.
Eliminating the sedan allowed Subaru to simplify the Impreza production line by offering only one body style and reducing the trim distance to three: the base, Sport, and RS.
Subaru did not bring the Impreza base trim to the unveiling ceremony, but we had ample opportunity to examine the other two trims.
Sport trim in the new “Oasis Blue” color exclusive Impreza is one of the brighter shades of blue from the automaker these days.
While the 2024 Subaru Impreza is an entirely new design, many see similarities between it and the recently revealed 2024 Subaru Crosstrek.
The Subaru Impreza’s front bumper and suspension arrangement distinguish it from SUVs.
Under the sheet metal, the Impreza features higher strength steel than previous model versions to meet more stringent crash tests but also increases torsional stiffness by 10 percent.
Subaru Impreza Engine
The base and Sport trim came standard with an excellent 2.0-liter boxer engine for 152 horsepower and 145 lb-ft of torque.
The CVT Sport includes eight simulated gear ratios in “manual mode,” controlled via a paddle shifter mounted on the steering wheel.
Subaru said that Sport’s wider spread of ratios helped it accelerate faster than the 2023 Impreza equivalent.
As before, each Impreza comes standard with a Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system.
Subaru revised the multi-disc center coupling with standard “Active Torque Vectoring” so that it doesn’t lock as heavily as the model out when shaking power between the front and rear axles.
It has been reset for “faster response times, more agile handling, and better cornering.”
2024 Subaru Impreza RS Price
The 2024 Subaru Impreza RS starts at $27,885 for the top trim level, according to the manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP). This price does not include factory-to-dealer shipping costs, which are currently $1,090.
