2020 Subaru Viziv Tourer Adrenaline Concept – With a jacked-up high ride and a large flare spot drill, Viziv’s adrenaline appears worthy of her name. While it looks a bit like the Subaru Crosstrek, the Viziv is not an adrenaline preview of certain production models. Instead, it shows off the new Subaru “Bolder ” design language, which will replace the current “Dynamic x Solid ” Language as the framework for future Subaru designs. So while the car itself will not go into production, the element of the design will be.

Last month, we ran a dimly-Lit teaser image depicting the backlight of the New Subaru Viziv Tourer concept, scheduled to reveal the Geneva Motor Show. Now the wraps have come from the expensive bronze concept, and it all looks good for the future WRX cart design. Second-generation trains were replaced with hatchback variants, so no WRX trains for 10 years now. The Viziv Tourer is a welcome Subaru back to a longer roof in this segment, albeit with a slight crossover flavor. The production version is still expected to launch in 2020.

The Viziv Adrenaline has a more aggressive look than most current Subaru models, although the Fender flare is only an excessive version of the current design features of Crosstrek. The contrasting roof is a neat touch that will be interesting to see in the future of the Subaru production model. However, it is unclear exactly what design element Viziv Adrenaline would make to transition to production.

2020 Subaru Viziv Performances

The backlight cuts the arch of the wide wheel, but the side is slightly less prominent than with the Viziv performance of STI concept shown at the Tokyo Auto Salon earlier this year: if you get your ruler out, Tourer is a narrow 20mm. It all looks very production ready, just lacking the doorknob and side mirrors – and maybe it could use some slightly larger spotlights. This Glasshouse concept is colored big enough to not reveal anything from the interior.

Subaru said the global platform underlying Viziv and Tourer’s siblings included a combination of the Subaru Symmetries AWD and boxer engines, so the Subaru core value still exists. There must be an advanced EyeSight help driver introduced in automobile production, but performance variants tend to focus on “enjoyment of active driving, ” As the Subaru politely put it down.

This concept car is the seventh in the Viziv Subaru series, which dates back to the Geneva Motor Show 2013. The Sun’s 2018 Geneva Motor Show concept, the Viziv Tourer, never went into production. But at the time the Subaru said the styling of the car showed the direction that wanted to go with future design. Between Viziv Tourer and Viziv’s adrenaline rush, it seems that Subaru is looking to take more risks with styling than it has in the past.

2020 Subaru Viziv Engine

Subaru did not mention what was under the hood. Viziv Tourer uses a typical Subaru boxer engine, working alone to expel all four wheels, but the other Viziv concept features Hybrid powertrains. Electrified powertrains gradually drip into the Subaru production model as well.

Subaru recently launched a plug-in hybrid version of the Crosstrek, using powertrain technology borrowed from Toyota. Subaru needs a hybrid to meet stricter global emissions standards but does not have the resources to develop its own hybrid powertrains, hence the team with Toyota. Both cars had previously partnered on the Subaru BRZ and the Toyota 86 twin sports cars.
