We Expect Subaru Return to Hybrid WRC in 2022
According to the publication, a key factor for the Pleiades is the transition to a hybrid base, which is scheduled for the 2022 season.
In this case, the final decision of the leadership will depend on the details of the technical regulations – for example, whether it will be possible for marketing purposes for large-scale Crossover Subaru XV Hybrid for WRC requirements.
We Expect Subaru Return to Hybrid WRC in 2022
It’s been a decade since Subaru last entered the World Rally Car class and about 15 years since the last big win, but if you ask most people what the main rally car is and there’s a good chance they’ll say Subaru.
Rumors from Japan now say that Subaru is working on a new hot-hatch in segment B that rivals models such as the Fiesta or Polo to gain more foothold in Europe.
Subaru also plans to use the car as a platform to return to the World Rally Championship. All this comes from the Japanese Response site and is just a rumor so take a grain of salt.
Less likely is Response’s claim that the car is meant to be ready for the 2022 season. Currently, Subaru does not produce cars in this segment, so unless the program goes well and is under tight lockout and kept from spying it is somewhat unlikely we will see Subaru mount an attack on WRC in 2022.
