2021 Subaru Legacy Change, Interior, Exterior – Subaru redesigned for the 2021 Legacy sedan. The Model sits on new platforms and features new technology, but the exterior design changes are quite minimal. That’s not surprising considering the Subaru conservative stance on the styling of vehicles. The question is: is a subtle approach effective or not? Let’s take a closer look at the design updates on the Subaru Legacy 2021.

In front, the headlights look smaller, although they are very similar to the old design. There is no more frame around the grid, giving the new model a slimmer appearance. The new Grille also has a sharper angle than the old one. The Model pictured here has a new black Trim around the lower intake area.

When viewing the side profile, you will see the biggest change is the new set of wheels. The two main character lines running all over the door have also been redesigned. The upper character line is softer, and the bottom is curved upwards towards the rear wheel. Subaru revamped the side mirror design to enhance aerodynamics. Also, notice the window shape has been altered near the back. The roofline drops sharper when reaching the trunk compared to the older models. On the back, you’ll find a slimmer backlight with a new lighting signature. This change comes with a redesigned plate area and a bumper. Overall, the back appears more upright.

The most important update happens in the cab. The previous Model features an optional 8-inch horizontally oriented screen. Now, Subaru has adopted an 11.6-inch vertically-oriented screen like a tablet. If you want to change the cabin temperature, there is a new haptic control at the bottom of the screen, as well as a physical button sideways. Air vents are now positioned to the side of the screen instead of above. You will also find the shifter is new.

There are not many sedans today with next quarter windows, but Subaru is one of the few that makes the trend go with Legacy 2021. All-new from the ground up, the mid-size sedan made the switch to the Subaru global platform from Impreza and Crosstrek.

Designed for “less vibration, quieter cab, better crash absorption, and enhanced handling,” SGP has also been developed with electrification in mind. Crosstrek, for example, is available with the Hybrid technology plug-in from Prius Prime.

Toyota serves as a hybrid assistance supplier in XV e-Boxer which is exclusive to Japan, but Subaru will not stop here. The complete electrification is expected in 2021, and the probability is the first EV of the Subaru will be a crossover utility vehicle according to the Nikkan Kogyo Shimbun.

No denying Legacy will accept a kind of electrification at the time, pleasing environmental protection agencies and prospective customers alike. As opposed to the 2.0-, 2.5-, and 3.6-liter engines available for the sixth generation, the seventh is sure to receive a 2.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder boxer introduced by a three-line crossover ascent.

Codenamed FA24, this machine combines Direct Injection with turbocharging to develop 260 horsepower and 277 pound-foot torque. The natural 3.6-liter is equated with six cylinders, by comparison, making do with 256 horsepower and 247 pounds-feet at a higher spin per minute.

No denying EZ36D will be removed from the range, leaving FA24 to work magic together with the continuous Lineartronic variable transmission. Adaptive controls, Hill mounts, and manual six-speed modes with the shifting pedal must be equipped with a standard.

Published on the Japanese media portal Subaru, the second teaser of Legacy 2021 follows a photo from the dashboard. A portrait-oriented touchscreen Infotainment system, similar to a tablet, dominates the cab, equipped with heating and air control, applications, MySubaru, and controls for the heated and ventilated front seats.
