2024 Subaru Outback Comes with Updated Safety Technology
2024 Subaru Outback – Subaru is delivering its fourth-year model, a new front fascia on the outside (headlights, bumpers, hexagon grille), unique interior upgrades with changes in the fabric inside new exterior colors.
A total overhaul from the ground up will be done in 2024 for the Outback, along with the Legacy sedan and the Ascent 3-Row family carrier.
2024 Subaru Outback
Subaru of America got a new upgrade before many other global markets, but Subaru Corporation announced a new Japanese specification Outback and received the latest safety technology.
The Subaru Outback is rumored to include the next-generation Subaru EyeSight safety technology. Here’s what’s to come with the new 2024 Outback.
The U.S. Outback model will be like a new Japanese-spec Outback equipped with a driver assistance system using a stereo camera that has nearly double the expanded display coverage for collision prevention.
Subaru’s new generation EyeSight uses new image recognition software with eleven safety functions: advanced adaptive cruising controls with lane centering positions, emergency lane assistance, speed signal recognition with intelligent speed limiters, lane departure warnings with steering wheel vibration, lane departure prevention (also recognizing dividing lines such as grass and curbside) and a pre-collision braking system with expanded support to avoid a collision at the intersection.
The new EyeSight Outback also includes reverse automatic braking, rear vehicle detection, rear seat reminders, and multi-display: front, rear, and side display monitors that reduce the vehicle’s blind spots.
2022 Subaru Outback Presents a Tougher Wilderness Edition
The regular version of the Subaru Outback is quite formidable.
The lifted wagon has a sturdy ground clearance, an optional turbocharged engine, and an intelligent off-road feature called the X-Mode — allowing it to pass through rough terrain easily.
But, like any product, there will always be room for improvement. That’s where the 2022 Subaru Outback Wilderness Edition comes in.
Designed to be the “most capable Outback,” wilderness edition comes with several exclusive off-road features, which you won’t find on models in this lineup.
Subaru said the suspension was even more rigid than before – though the company did not elaborate on the details.
Later, the same dual-function X-Mode as the Onyx XT model – offering Snow/Dirt and Deep Snow/Mud modes – was also brought along.
Wilderness Edition sits taller than the regular Outback, complete with a ground clearance of 9.4 inches versus 8.7 inches on the base model.
The new height increases the outback approach angle to 20.0 degrees, the break-over angle to 21.2 degrees, and the departure angle to 23.6 degrees.
Subaru Outback Wilderness Exterior
As you probably already know, this version of Outback also gets a redesigned exterior.
That includes a new front and rear bumper that increases clearance further, standard front slip plates, and Yokohama Geolandar all-terrain tires that bandage exclusive 17-inch rims.
There is also an ideal Wilderness badge on the inside and outside. This special edition also gets an exclusive Trim Geyser Blue, inspired by Subaru’s rally heritage.
Subaru Outback Wilderness Interior
The interior of the wilderness edition is slightly different, offering Star-Tex imitation leather, black color on the seats, and unique copper-colored contrast stitching throughout.
Meanwhile, steering wheels, gear shifters, and door panels wear unique Anodized Copper accents.
The 11.6-inch vertical touchscreen and Subaru EyeSight’s active safety technology are carried from the basic version.
Subaru Outback Wilderness Engine
It was equipped with a turbocharged 2.4-liter engine (also found at onyx Edition XT and Limited XT trim levels) unchanged.
The unit still produces 260 horsepower (194 kilowatts) and 277 pound-feet (376 Newton-meters) torque, managed by continuous variable transmission.
However, Subaru said it had revised the CVT’s final drive ratio from 4.11:1 to 4.44:1.
That gives wilderness edition more low-end torque on wheels than the traditional Outback — enough power to devour a 40 percent incline over the gravel surface.
Subaru Outback Wilderness Price
Subaru hasn’t listed a price for the Outback Wilderness Edition but officially promises to announce it by the end of the year.
If the price of outback Onyx Edition XT of 35,145 US dollars (Rp512 million) is used as an indication, Wilderness Edition is likely priced close to 40,000 US dollars.
