2024 Subaru Legacy: What We’ve Expected So Far
2024 Subaru Legacy
The Subaru Legacy is a comfortable midsize sedan and is simply Amazing. There is plenty of space inside the large trunk and standard all-wheel drive.
However, the non-turbocharged Legacy variant lacks a distinctive personality and fails to pump blood. The infotainment system is also not the fastest and easiest to use.
2024 Subaru Legacy
The Legacy 2024 update is expected to include a redesigned front fascia, which is an excellent place to start with any refresh.
The car gets a new, more aggressive front bumper under a more prominent grille and restyled LED headlights. The 2024 Legacy will arrive at the Base, Premium, Sport, Limited, and Touring XT trim levels.
What’s New in 2024?
The Subaru family sedan is expected to wear an updated look for 2024, with a more prominent grille, revised front bumper, and different headlights.
The mid-range Sport model now comes standard with a 260-hp turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder and additional exterior embellishments, including a red stripe on the grille and a grey mirror cap.
Automatic emergency steering has been added to the available driver assistance features list. The top Touring XT trim uses a new wide-angle camera that improves the field of view for the car’s EyeSight system.
Subaru is expected to deliver the latest version of the EyeSight Driver Assist Technology sedan and offer a new Wide-Angle Mono Camera on the Touring XT.
The wide-angle camera expands the system’s field of view, making it easier to recognize pedestrians and bicycles at low-speed intersections.
Models equipped with blind spot detection with the help of lane changes and rear traffic alerts now also feature automatic emergency steering.
One significant change arriving for 2024 comes to Legacy Sport. Missing is already a naturally aspirated 2.5-liter four-cylinder boxer.
Subaru will now let its turbocharged 2.4-liter engine into the trim. The engine produces 260 horsepower (193 kilowatts) and 277 pound-feet (375 Newton-meters) of torque, and the Subaru further makes it stand out with its style.
2024 Subaru Legacy Exterior
The 2024 Legacy Sport will wear red accents on the grille while gray adorns the side mirrors, trunk spoiler, and 18-inch alloy wheels.
The Sport trim builds on top of the Premium, adding sport-tuned suspension, a moonroof, LED fog lights, and more to the package.
However, Subaru added additional safety gear, such as reverse automatic braking and a driver disturbance mitigation system.
All 2024 Legacy models will arrive with the Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive and linear-Tronic continuous variable transmission brands.
Subaru’s entry-level engine, a naturally aspirated 2.5-liter boxer engine, produces the same power of 182 hp (135 kW) and 176 lb-ft (238 Nm) for the 2024 model year.
2024 Subaru Legacy Engine
A horizontally opposite 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine is standard and produces 182 horsepower. The Sport and Touring XT models have a 2.4-liter turbocharged 260 hp engine.
All Legacy models have all-wheel drive and continuous automatic transmission (CVT).
What are the differences between the turbos after testing both engines? The non-turbo Sport required 8.0 seconds to reach 60 mph, while the Touring XT did so in just 6.1 seconds.
Regardless of the engine beneath the hood, the 2017 Legacy offers comparable ride quality and slightly improved handling dynamics compared to the previous model.
2024 Subaru Legacy Interior
The Legacy cabin feels much larger than the previous generation, especially at the rear. Although the design is still old-fashioned, the interior of the Legacy remains functional, with well-chosen materials.
Upholstery is standard, but the high-end Limited and Touring models have leather. The front seats are well-sculpted and comfortable, and the top trim has a manual thigh extension for the driver’s seat, an advantage for long-legged buyers.
The base model uses a version of the Starlink Subaru infotainment system featuring a 7.0-inch dual-screen.
The Premium one-step model has the company’s latest 11.6-inch vertical-oriented infotainment display that looks like it was borrowed from Volvo.
The integration of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto became standard. And while navigation on the dashboard is standard only on the Limited and Touring XT models, it’s optional on all but the primary Legacy.
Four-speaker stereos are expected, the Premium and Sport models come with a six-speaker setup, and anything above gets a 12-speaker Harman/Kardon audio system.
2024 Subaru Legacy Price
The 2024 Subaru Legacy is expected to start at $24,395. The popular Premium trim starts at $26,695, and the top Touring XT model starts at $37,695.
