2021 Subaru Outback Limited XT Specs
Standard 17-Inch wheels at low Trim levels produce gentle travel. The optional 18-inch rubber generates feedback that is slightly larger than the road.
No powertrain mastered. Basic engine performance is adequate but not better, balanced with an amazing fuel economy. The 4-cylinder base can feel sluggish. Although much less Frugal, the 6-cylinder version is practically essential for anyone who often climbs the old upgrades.
Subaru CVT keeps the engine well behaved, with low revs. Adeptly tuned, it helps the hinterland feel quite alive in urban driving, stimulated by a surprisingly sharp throttle response. Crossing the highway is far less spirited, especially if the hinterland is filled with passengers.
The standard ALL-wheel drive produces very prominent traction regardless of the terrain. When off-Road or face the snow, X-mode can change the traction control and activate the hill down control. Assisted by 8.7 inches of land Clearance, a carefree Outback scampers along a paved road. Kinship to the Subaru Legacy sedan is translated into a path of courtesy that suggests high cars.
The 4-cylinder Outback is EPA-Rated at 25/32 MPG City/Highway or 28 MPG Combined. Choosing a stronger Flat-6, the estimate sinks sharply, to 20/27/22 mpg. Outbacks use ordinary gasoline.
