2025 Subaru Forester Premium

The all-new 2025 Subaru Forester is expected to undergo a complete overhaul, but fans must wait until the end of 2024 to purchase it.

The 2025 Subaru Forester Premium is poised to revolutionize the compact SUV market. This Japanese crossover, known for its blend of car-like driving dynamics, practicality, and reliability, will receive a major upgrade.

The new model is expected to come with a complete redesign featuring a unique exterior style, interior, infotainment, and safety features.

The Subaru Forester is an affordable compact crossover that can venture at least a little off the beaten track. Competitors like the Honda CR-V or Mazda CX-50 provide better road driving behavior.

Still, the Forester is quiet and comfortable enough to take you from REI to Trader Joe’s without complaint. The Forester’s rear seats are spacious, and the cargo area provides enough room for large camping gear or groceries for a week.

The Forester is well equipped in all but the sparse base model, but regardless of how much you choose to spend, you’ll get a host of driver assistance technology.

One of the most exciting aspects of the 2025 Subaru Forester Premium is its potential for electrification.

Subaru has been making significant changes to prepare for this shift, with ambitious goals to have 40 percent of its global sales come from electrified vehicles by 2030.

There are rumors that the 2025 Forester could come with an EV powertrain and a hybrid model, marking a big step towards a more sustainable future for Subaru.

The Forester’s hybrid version is expected to collaborate with Toyota, utilizing their hybrid technology. This partnership could bring about significant progress in Subaru’s hybrid efforts.

The 2025 Forester is said to feature a four-cylinder boxer engine paired with Toyota’s 118 horsepower motor, with power sent to the symmetrical all-wheel drive system through an ECVT transmission.

This combination could significantly improve the Forester’s fuel economy, pushing it closer to an impressive 40 MPG on the highway than the current 33 MPG.

In terms of safety, the redesign of the Forester includes advanced features as standard equipment, such as forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and adaptive cruise control.

Subaru’s eyesight suite of driver support systems, which includes lane keep assist and pre-collision braking, is also likely to be included in the 2025 Forester.

2025 Subaru Forester Premium Interior

The interior of the 2025 Forester is expected to offer a revamped setting, focusing on modernity compared to the current model.

Features may include a connected navigation system, infotainment touchscreen display, wireless smartphone charging, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capability, USB port, Google map, mobile apps, Wi-Fi hotspot, 4G LTE data connection, and digital instrument.

The Forester’s cabin is simple, with no frills, a good driving position, and good outside visibility. The interiors of our Touring models are nicely finished with caramel-colored leather on the seats, door panels, and dashboard.

The textured plastic trim upholstered throughout the cabin also looks and feels high-quality, while the glossy black plastic in the center stack and the chrome and matte-metallic plastic trim beautify things quite nicely.

The rear seats are quite spacious (there is no third-row option), and even adults will find bench seats comfortable for road trips.

We loaded 11 carry-on suitcases behind the back seat and 23 with the rear seats folded up. That’s more than a CX-5 or RAV4 can muster, but the CR-V can carry a maximum of 25 pieces of luggage with the rear seats stowed.

Exterior

The exterior design of the 2025 Forester is expected to appeal to younger buyers, with more stylish and aggressive cues than can be found on current Foresters.

The color options for the 2025 model may include Autumn Green Metallic, Brilliant Bronze Metallic, Crimson Red Pearl, Crystal Black Silica, Sapphire Blue Pearl, Horizon Blue Pearl, and Magnetite Gray Metallic.

Release Date and Price

The 2025 Subaru Forester Premium is expected to be released in the fall of 2024, with availability at potential dealers in 2025.

The Price is expected to start at $29,000. As we await the official release date announcement, it’s clear that the 2025 Subaru Forester Premium is set to raise the bar in its class with improved engine performance, advanced technology, and a host of safety features.

Subaru Forester Trim Levels

The Subaru Forester is available in six trim levels: Base, Premium, Sport, Wilderness, Limited, and Touring.

  • Base: The base Forester has features like a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a rearview camera, Bluetooth, and cloth seats.
  • Premium: The Premium adds features like a 10-way power driver’s seat, a power-tilt/sliding moonroof, and heated front seats.
  • Sport: The Sport adds a more aggressive exterior look, along with features like 18-inch wheels, black exterior accents, and a sport-tuned suspension.
  • Wilderness: The Wilderness is a new trim level for 2023 that is designed for off-road adventures. It features a raised suspension, all-terrain tires, and several other features that make it more capable in the dirt.
  • Limited: The Limited adds features like leather seats, a power passenger seat, a Harman Kardon sound system, and a navigation system.
  • Touring: The Touring is the top-of-the-line trim level and adds features like an 11.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a panoramic moonroof, and a driver assistance suite that includes adaptive cruise control and lane departure warning.

Your best Subaru Forester trim will depend on your needs and budget. If you’re looking for a fuel-efficient and comfortable SUV for everyday driving, the Base or Premium trims are a good option.

The Wilderness trim is a great choice for a more rugged SUV that can handle off-road terrain. And if you want the best of both worlds, the Limited or Touring trims offer a luxurious and feature-rich experience.
