2023 Subaru Ascent: Everything We Know So Far

2023 Subaru Ascent

2023 Subaru Ascent – The New Subaru Ascent is one of the most popular three-row SUVs in the US, and we do not expect any significant changes for 2023.

The Subaru Ascent debuted just a few years ago, marking the Japanese carmaker’s latest attempt at a three-row SUV. While Ascent is not our three-row favorite – the honor is currently on the Kia Telluride – it is a solid class participant and a marked improvement over Subaru’s last attempt, the B9 Tribeca.

2023 Subaru Ascent

Ascent offers a list of good standard and optional driver assists, a slick infotainment system, and an interior that feels a little more premium than it has in some rivals. And, like almost all Subarus, all-wheel drive is standard.

Not everything is perfect. The climb felt small, especially in the second and third rows, compared to its competitors, including Telluride, Hyundai Palisade, and Honda Pilot.

The engine is complex, and the sensitive gas pedals and the severe engine damage some Climbing repairs in other areas. It was a challenging problem to fix without a complete redesign, something a few more years away.

Like today’s Ascent, the 2023 model year is expected to prioritize usability and versatility over design. Thick bumpers, sharp headlights, a sturdy Subaru grille, and black body cladding are clear design elements of big ascents.

The grand plan is the same at the back, with an upright greenhouse, a chrome trim cut connecting the taillights, and two prominent exhaust outlets. Make no mistake, and Climbing is an excellent vehicle in the Subaru range.

We hope 2023 Ascent has the same overall interior design as the SUV currently on sale. However, that doesn’t necessarily mean bad, as the Ascent cabin is practical and attractive.

The dashboard has a unique design centered around the center console, which features a tiered layout to separate the above-mounted instrument screen, touch screen, and HVAC controls.

The technology is expected to remain the same for 2023, with a 6.5-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, four USB ports, and a six-speaker audio system as standard.

A larger 8-inch touchscreen, Wi-Fi hot spots, a 14-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, and navigation are expected to be offered as options.

2023 Subaru Ascent Engine

Power should continue to come from the turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine. The motor will continue to produce 260 horsepower and 277 pound-feet of torque and be paired with a continuously variable automatic transmission. Power is transmitted exclusively to all wheels through a standard all-wheel-drive system.

Climbing is currently equipped with Subaru’s EyeSight safety system as standard. In addition, this suite features automatic emergency braking, forward collision alerts, lane departure alerts, lane maintenance assistance, and adaptive cruise control as standard.

Blind-spot monitoring, lane change assistance, rear traffic alerts, and the rear automatic emergency braking are optional for 2023.

The current climb has earned excellent crash test ratings from IIHS and NHTSA, named Top Safety Pick+ from the first, and made a five-star rating from the last. This score should remain the same for the 2023 model year.
