New 2022 Subaru BRZ Interior and Exterior Review

New 2022 Subaru BRZ

2022 Subaru BRZ – The new Subaru BRZ 2022 has come in. It is completely redesigned and re-engineered to deliver more horsepower, torque, and acceleration, plus better handling and even more rear-wheel-drive thrills.

Built from tracks for true drivers, the 2022 BRZ marks an exhilarating new level of sports car engineering from the Best Performance Brand.

The Subaru BRZ 2022 continues to be a pure sports car for everyone. The completely redesigned rear-drive coupe remains a unique entry in Subaru’s all-wheel-drive lineup.

The same is available for its mechanical twin, the Toyota 86. With its naturally sucked 228-hp flat-four, BRZ is stronger than ever, which at least partially addresses one of the biggest complaints.

Combining it with a lower center of gravity and soft pavement weight and this firmly styled 2+2 hatchback is set up to bring out the seat-of-your-pants feel that defines all great sports cars.

With a new interior design that carries modern technology but still maintains the practicality of its predecessor, BRZ 2022 is ready to face the king of affordable sports cars, the Mazda MX-5 Miata.

2022 Subaru BRZ Engine

The BRZ 2022 features an all-new, larger 2.4-liter direct-injection SUBARU BOXER engine, which delivers 228 HP and 15% more torque – at 184 pound-feet – to improve acceleration from every angle and the classic BOXER grunt.

The BRZ 2022 features the iconic sports car layout – front-engine, rear-wheel drive – and modern technology developed during Subaru’s decades of motorsport engineering.

Everything comes together to create a balanced and agile sports car made for serious driving along with the near-perfect distribution of weights from front to back and light pavement weights.

Suspension

Subaru engineers rearranged the MacPherson struts at the front and multi-link rear suspensions to further enhance the BRZ cornering, including widening the rear track to improve dynamics and strengthen suspension mounting points to improve performance.

Chassis

The BRZ chassis and body have been re-engineered for lighter weight, lower center of gravity, 50% increased torsional stiffness, and 60% increased front lateral stiffness. Combined with a fast 13.5:1 steering ratio, the BRZ 2022 gives drivers a smooth, direct feeling to the road and an almost instantaneous response.

Safety Features

BRZ 2022 offers EyeSight Driver Assist Technology with Automatic Pre-Collision Braking and Adaptive Cruise Control for extra peace of mind and daily driving comfort.

In addition, SUBARU STARLINK Safety and Security feature a range of services that can keep you and your BRZ connected to help, such as Enhanced Roadside Assistance and Automatic Collision Notifications.

Performance Wheels, Tires, and Brakes

With larger 18-inch wheels and Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tires, you can count on the BRZ 2022 to survive quickly, even at difficult turns, and give you precise control and a confident grip in wet and dry conditions.

In addition, the BRZ braking system has been revised and improved to improve stopping force.

2022 Subaru BRZ Interior

The BRZ retains a driver-centered design and 2+2 seating configuration, but the cab now offers a more modern aesthetic with improved technology.

Facing the driver is a new cluster of 7.0-inch full digital meters that makes the tachometer the main attraction, with circular readings even switching to linear graphics in Track drive mode.

A pair of reinforced front seats were seen keeping passengers safely in place during the hard cornering, and they were dressed in red accents to promote the coupe’s vibrant intentions.

In addition to its low sitting position, Subaru says the BRZ has excellent forward visibility thanks to its thin front roof pillars.

A sizable cargo area that can hold four tires with the folded rear seats remains a pillar of the coupe’s beneficial properties.

The interior feels purposeful, built for driving tasks while serving a young demographic—new seven-inch digital dashboard with configurable tachometer and display for amps, water temperature, and g-meter.

In the center, a new eight-inch screen runs on Subaru’s latest StarLink infotainment system, greatly improving BRZ technology prowess.

Residents maintain a low seat position with excellent views, thanks to the high-strength steel on pillars A, B, and C.

Subaru maintains a 2+2 seating configuration with folding rear seats, which opens up to create a useful cargo area with space for mountain bikes, golf clubs, or four tires for track day events.

2022 Subaru BRZ Exterior

His style looks more evolutionary than revolutionary. Overall, the design looks much more modern and focused than the car it replaces, although some people may prefer the aggressive style of the old car.

The new BRZ is one inch long and nearly half an inch lower than its predecessor, making it more compact. The Subaru also added widened wheel arches and “double bubbles” as a nod to vintage race cars.

This aggressive design flows into the front fender with large side vents, which are functional and reduce obstructions by draining air from under the hood.

In addition, the Subaru adds an aggressive touch with a double exhaust and a smooth “ducktail” spoiler on the back.

2022 Subaru BRZ Power

The New BRZ addressed the power shortages (particularly torque) that plagued previous generation models—equipped with a 2.4-liter boxer four-cylinder engine that produces 228 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque, an increase of 23 hp and 28 lb-ft.

Subaru hasn’t posted any performance figures yet, but the new engine should feel faster, reaching peak torque at just 3,700 rpm than 6,400 rpm in older cars.

All the grunts still come out to the rear wheels, meaning the driver can enjoy some tail sliding action.

Models equipped with a six-speed automatic transmission include Subaru’s EyeSight Driver Assistance Technology, although we easily sacrificed it to get a six-speed manual transmission. The car still weighs under 2,900 pounds, so it belongs the featherweight by modern standards.

2022 Subaru BRZ Price and Release Date

The Subaru BRZ 2022 carries the same MSRP as the 2020 model, priced at $28,845.

The 2022 Subaru BRZ will launch in Australia in the fourth quarter of 2021, and we expect it to be also launched in the US on the same date as above.
