2020 Subaru Liberty Turbo Wagon Australia – Subaru has selected the Chicago 2019 Auto Show to uncover the seventh-generation Subaru Liberty, which is now based on the same SGA (Subaru global Architecture) platform as the new Forester, Impreza, and XV. But surprisingly, it’s not yet confirmed for Australia.

While the Subaru Liberty 2020 appeared similar in style to the previous model, the automobile features higher interior quality, much more technological and return to the turbo-gasoline engine in the form of a new 2.4-liter four-cylinder unit that replaces the 3.6-liter six in Liberty 3.6 R.

But while the new Liberty seems to be a major overhaul on the current model, the Australian release has yet to be confirmed thanks to a cloud that hangs in the future of the production drive right. While we can’t confirm (or deny) a local arrival car first, we can tell you all about it.

Subaru claims the new platform made 2020 Liberty more dynamic and better riding than ever, thanks to an increase of 13 percent in the ultra-high tensile strength of steel and a 371 percent increase in structural adhesives compared to Impreza.

The body of 2020 Liberty claimed to be 70 percent more rigid than before. While the exterior of the Liberty 2020 is best described as evolution, the interior is a major improvement on the current model of the base.

It has obviously been a push of upmarket, with Nappa leather seats offered on high-quality models, skins in the dashboard and a large 11.6-inch touch screen Portrait running Subaru ‘ Starlink ‘ software.

2020 Subaru Liberty Turbo Features

The new cars also feature digital radios, satellite navigation, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto, plus large screens also combining the climate control of a dual-zone car.

All models in the US will be equipped with the company ‘ EyeSight ‘ active safety technology with adaptive cruise control, fixed-line assist and autonomous emergency braking with pedestrian detection as standard.

A new 180-degree front camera system and the first automatic reverse braking for Liberty after debuting in XV, Impreza and Forester.

Measuring 4840mm long, 1840mm wide, and 1500mm tall, with a 2750mm long wheelbase, the 2020 Liberty is 40mm longer than the previous model, but strangely enough, all other dimensions remain the same.

The overall increase in length has allowed Liberty’s boot floor along to grow and North American specifications have evolved into 428-litres – despite the Australian model while offering a 493-liter, perhaps due to a smaller spare tire.

Sitting in the ‘ Subaru Global architecture ‘ means 2020 Liberty uses a new engine – the 136kW/239Nm 2.5-liter naturally aspirated four of the Forester, and the new 194kW/376Nm 2.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder gasoline engine currently used only In the SUV climb in North America.

Both drivetrains are matched with CVT cars and become Subaru, each version has a torque all-wheel drive vector system.

2020 Subaru Liberty Turbo Engine

Replacing the 3.6-liter six-cylinder engine currently (used in Liberty and Outback 3.6 R), the new 2.4-liter turbo engine is capable of 6.1 seconds 0-97km/h (60mph) sprint-2.3 seconds faster than the 2.5-liter base engine.

While offering more power than the previous 3.6-liter engine, the 2.4 Turbo should also prove to be more efficient-Liberty 3.6 R rated at 9.9 L/100km on a combined cycle.

2020 Subaru Liberty Turbo Release Date

While the 2020 Subaru Liberty seems to be a major overhaul on the current model, it has not been confirmed for the right-hand production drive, let alone the Australian sales. We estimate the new generation of Outback to make it locally, even though it’s unlikely to happen before 2020.
