2021 Subaru Outback Hybrid Release Date – The familiar Subaru Outback 2021 styling may not attract too much extra attention, but it has the technology necessary to ensure the drivers are noticing.

The All-new SUV debuting at the New York International Auto Show comes with a suite of driver tools that includes an automatic emergency brake, lane-keeping help, and Adaptive Cruise Control, plus a system that uses a camera to Detect if the driver is not watching the road and remind them to do that otherwise.

As we expected, Outback sixth-generation features many of the same upgrades and changes that have been seen on the 2020 Legacy sedan introduced earlier in 2019. That means it makes the transition to the global Subaru platform already in use by Forester and ascent crossover, as well as the Impreza and Crosstrek compacts. We have been impressed with other Subaru models based on this platform, so Bode is good for the 2021 outback.

2021 Subaru Outback Hybrid Specs

Characteristic Subaru’s symmetrical all-wheel-drive system remains standardized to let motorists take advantage of 8.7 inches of ground clearance. The entry-level engine is a natural aspiration, 2.5-liter flat-four which makes 182 horsepower and 176 pound-foot torque. That’s not much for vehicles of this size, so buyers can step into a turbocharged, 2.4-liter flat – four rated at a more generous 260 HP and 277 lb.-ft. of torque. Both four cylinders shift through continuous variable transmission (CVT). The Flat-Six available in the previous generation of Outback is gone, and we didn’t expect it to be back in the near future. Want a stick? You’re not lucky there too.

While it is aimed at tired and texting drivers, the new 11.6-inch touchscreen display is standard with all but the entry-level Trim may prove to be something of a distraction, as well, and is a high-tech exhibit of more interior Calm than the one out of the best sellers for that brand.

The Outback reaches 26 mpg in the city and 33 MPG on the highway when equipped with a smaller engine, and offers an adventurous 600-mile range. Selecting the Turbo four reduces fuel economy to 23 and 30 mpg, respectively, but allows Outback to tow 3,500 pounds.

Along with a larger windshield to look at the outside world, buyers can get 180 degrees front camera and Outbacks with a widescreen display with the Chimani app, which is a digital guide to the U.S. National Park system.

The EyeSight Suite of electronic driving aids is standard throughout the Outback line. It includes adaptive cruise control with centered lanes, directional LED lights, automatic Reverse braking, and head-up display, among other functions. Subaru also integrates an infrared camera and face-to-technology recognition into the cluster instrument to monitor whether the driver pays attention to the road ahead. It emits sound and visual warnings if the driver’s senses are disturbed or fall asleep.
